| - Elegance and luxury. This is one of the most beautiful hotels in Las Vegas, and one that myself and family members prefer going to over the dozens of other hotels on the Vegas Strip.
Here's my review in list format of the positives and negatives of The Venetian.
PROPERTY
+ The interior is gorgeous, especially the "Sistine Chapel" replica.
+ Very clean and well-maintained.
- The parking garage is one of the worst in town, and it becomes narrower with each floor. Do yourself a favor and valet; there's one located inside the garage.
CASINO
+ I hardly gamble, but this has to be one of the safest places to do that. Security is everywhere, and the entire casino floor is brightly lit.
+ It doesn't smell smoky.
- This place does see its fair share of hookers, and they can blend in with some of the club-going patrons. You'll know one when you overhear a "business proposition" while playing slots, or if you're approached by a "lady of the night."
LUXURY SUITES
+ All rooms are suites!
+ Bella Suites are spacious rooms with two sinks, luxurious bath and shower, comfy beds, and three television sets.
+ Blackout curtains allow you to sleep until noon without any sunlight peeking in.
- If possible, make a request for a room that's above the 12th floor. You might get an unsightly view of the parking garage.
RESTAURANTS & EATERIES
+ Grand Lux is open 24/7. They have an awesome breakfast buffet, but the food overall is good and one of the more affordable dining options in the area.
+ The gelato counter in "St Mark's Square" has many tasty flavor selections.
+ Bouchon Bakery has some good coffee, but their macarons are OK for being almost $4.00 each.
- The candied apples on display at some of the snack counters only look good.
- TAO Asian Bistro is overrated. Chinatown is up the road if you want Asian cuisine. For fusion, I'd walk over to Sushi Samba in The Palazzo.
CLUBS & BARS
+ The Bourbon bar plays MUSIC VIDEOS from the 80's. Fun place to chill and get your dance on without having to go to a club.
- Tao is fine for first time clubbers, but I wouldn't say it's *the* nightclub to go to.....that was 10 or so years ago.
SHOPS
+ You won't find Gucci or Louis Vuitton here, but the canal shops offer a unique shopping experience with its faux outdoor scenery and the gondolas.
+ Sephora!
SHOWS & SIGHTS
+ Blue Man Group is one big fun rave party!
+ Human Nature now has a resident show here. I highly recommend watching this show!
EVENTS
+ Accommodating convention halls.
- I wouldn't suggest holding a wedding reception here. To keep it short, the wedding staff wasn't accommodating to the needs of the wedding party, which surprised me considering how The Venetian prides itself in being a five-diamond resort.
The Venetian is one of the hotels in Vegas that I'd recommend to my friend's and family. It isn't too far from some of the main attractions on The Strip. Being a luxury hotel, the room prices can be affordable than other luxury hotels in the area (signing up for their e-mails helps, as well as their Grazie card!).
