Premiums are low at Sierra Health relative to competitors, but the customer service is awful. We signed up one of our Nevada-based independent contractors here because of the low cost, but due to a billing issue, one payment was missed and the plan was canceled just one month later. We received no notification of the plan cancellation - not one letter, e-mail, or phone call. I refuse to accept that any company interested in doing business and interested in keeping its customers would not make any effort to reach out to a customer after a missed payment.
Worse yet, they refuse to take any responsibility whatsoever or make any special accommodation, leaving our contractor without coverage. To add insult to injury, this company requires use of a third-party messaging system for correspondence which just wastes time and delays communication.
If the customer service is so poor when we are trying to give them money, I fear for how bad they are when the customer actually needs services from them!
