I love Sears, for me it is so ol' skool.
My mom and I used to shop via the Sear's catalogue when I lived on an isolated reservation in Saskatchewan as a child, then we would make our monthly trips to the big city of Prince Albert to shop at Sears and the Army and Navy. (remember that store?).
I didn't even know that Sears was still around until my mother decided she wanted to break out of her Care Facility and get her shop on at the Southcentre. My mother has been immobile for months now so Monday was the first time she could really dive into her addiction, the shopping venue of choice for my mom was of course SEARS!
We had so much fun, there was this 50% sale on all items ending with 60, 70, or 80 cents, which was great but slightly confusing. Nonetheless my mother topped her wheelchair with about 30 items and we paid around $150 for everything.
Women's clothing that was originally around $75 to $100 were going for $7.99-$9.99. And the nicest part about this madness were the sale staff, alot of these women are in their 50s and 60s, so my mother was really pleased with their attentive and gentle service.
This one girl named Neeta went so far as to check all my mother's outdated Sear's gift cards and update them so she was able to save even more on her purchases.
The whole experience took around two hours and then she was whisked back to the home. We had an extremely wonderful afternoon of sales shopping and the most caring of customer service.
Sear's continues to ring in the deals after all these years.
