| - This is in regards to the Family Pool portion of Freedom Park also known on google Carlos l. martinez and Darrio j. hall family swimming pool located on N. PECOS. Prices are very reasonable especially for the Locals during the Summer time looking to do some kind of pool activity for cheap with the family. 2$ for each kid and 3$ each for parents or adults, I believe theres lower prices for seniors citizens too. Not bad prices ( for- a half portion size free swim sections , ankle deep splash pad theme section leading to the free swim pool area, a decent size water slide to slide down sectioned off by "no hanging onto ropes and floaters," 2 diving boards in a even deeper section also sectioned off by no hanging onto while swimming, ropes and floaters, and tons of picnic tables with umbrellas around). Its not bad!!! You can bring in your own food and drinks for snack or picnic time after or in between swimming seshes. So that is awesome because most Hotels or Resorts or Water parks here has a strict policy NO FOOD OR DRINKS and they will search your bags like TSA to make sure of it. According to their site it says hours goes for 12pm-4pm and than 6pm-9pm, 2 hours I guess for pool break! Not quite sure the reasoning... (Those hours goes for the weekday. Weekends the time is different) So its up to you if its worthy of the money or time. However prior to getting into the facility DRESS CODE is strict. Call ahead to see what their rules are. Dont want you or any of your family members not able to go into the pool because of their dress code policy. I've seen disappointed families excited upon arrival and about to pay only to find out either the parent(s) or their kid(s) won't be able to go into the pool because they weren't wearing appropriate swimwear. Therefore they have to just sit and watch on the side and can't go into the pool at all or not even able to go into the Facility due to that, CALL ahead just incase... Dont want anyone to waste their time driving there only to be disappointed, cause its not what you expected, its cheap and its a pool to keep you cool from that 3 digit summer heat in the desert. The surrounding area is alright, but kind of sketchy. Accidents are frequent there so be alert. Like any where in the valley theres lots of construction work, road work, detours etc. and the obvious we all deal with, directions let down from GPS. So drive safe! if you have to do a U-TURN after passing your turn, do so safely when its appropriate. All in all a fun pool day me and my family of four had. Weekdays seems to be the best choice of days, half an hour to 2 hour prior to opening is not too packed and picnic tables with umbrellas are available however there are Summer programs that swim there during those days also. Keep that in mind!
