  • My initial thought was this is a really nice pharmacy, esthetically. However, it be better managed. I was in the area and had my Drs. visit. I was not feeling well. Two medications were called in and I was instructed to start them immediately. As I arrived to pick up my meds I was told they ONLY had one in stock and the other would be on arrival the next day. I said I'm sorry, but why wasn't this relayed to my Drs office when they called the prescription in? This pharmacy was close to closing and my Drs office had already closed. The cashier asked me to step aside for Pharmacy consult and didn't ring me up. Had the consult and the Pharmacist said yes, you are to take them together, but the other med comes tomorrow. She said they can call it to my local Avella pharm near me. I then had returned to the cashier line to pay for my item. A customer in front of me was holding up the line with me and others in line and had a dispute with the Pharmacist that she wasn't happy with her medication, she was told she could not return it. The lengthy dispute escalated and I had asked the cashier next to her can you please open another register to check me out and the other customers behind me? She said they couldn't because they had already shut down the computers and counted their daily total. I then said well do you think you could move this lady who is arguing down the way with whatever is going on so she isn't taking up the cashing out area, so we can get checked out? She paused awhile and asked the Pharmacist if she could do that. I mean seriously...rocket science here or just COMMON SENSE? She finally checked me and the other customers out. Honestly when people are going in to pick up meds can you empathize that they may be there because they are not feeling well. Just think about it and hopefully from this review, it's a learning experience to AVOID this from happening again. BTW...NO body wants to hear anyone else's private business or issue and then HOLD them up from being served. I wish Avella would have been up front with my Drs. office from the initial phone order. I would have gone to another pharmacy to get the meds that were prescribed.
