  • My roommate and I moved into South Blvd apartment in Las Vegas on April 1, 2017. The air conditioning has been an issue since the very beginning we are almost in September and the issue is still not resolved I (Myself) pushed on the vendor so hard to make them come out on a Saturday at 7 PM at night to put a camera inside the ventilation to find two large dents that are stopping the airflow to the master bedroom. my daughter and I share this bedroom and have been sleeping in the living room most nights because of how hot it is. We finally were going to get it fixed yesterday August 19, 2017 but the new maintenance supervisor decided against it and did something else. I watched the vendor show myself and my roommate the two large dents, the larger dent is so large that he couldn't get the camera to fit through it. There is only an inch or two for air to flow through that ventilation. I am uncomfortable to go into my own home I dread coming home from work. This is become such a burden to even live in this apartment yet it feels like my words mean nothing. The office manager and I discussed that the vents would be replaced but the supervisor for the maintenance felt like he didn't want to do it and decided to do something different. It has been almost 5 months and I still am living in an apartment that is uncomfortable. The area manager Tommy I've sent him an email on August 4 and I have called him and left him a voicemail three times and still have not received a phone call back. This is our biggest issue. The other issue that we have had is them entering my apartment without permission, it has been very well know that we are not allowing anyone to enter the home unless we are home, they have done this twice now. When I confronted Eric the second time regarding this issue he insinuated that this was my fault even though it states in the notes from Natalie The office manager that he had read to me "do not enter apartment when we are not home". I don't understand where this is my fault and why he thinks it's OK to blame me for the situation. My power bill is extremely high due to the situation at some point it is going to become winter and the heat is not gonna be able to flow through to my bedroom we are once again will be stuck in the living room just to keep warm. I've done everything I can to keep calm with them cordial professional not make any complaints against them I am done. I sent an email to channel 13 and I've already received an email back we would be making a date for them to come visit me in my apartment. I also contacted the Health District as well and will be sending a letter out to the apartment complex office showing them that they will have 48 hours to fix this issue the way it was suggested by the vendor. If this is not fixed this week the complaint will go to the Health District and they will send someone out to investigate the situation I have all the proof I need from the email with the maintenance also my power bill the phone calls I've made. I will be expecting reimbursement for my power bills and also a month maybe two of free rent for them putting me through this situation and my daughter plus my roommate. If I have to take this issue to court I will. I know that they've had issues in the past regarding the grill exploding at the pool and injuring for people. I don't work far from my apartment complex and the job that I am in I do give advice to people on where to live and unfortunately I will steer everybody I know or anybody who comes my way, away from these apartments. The only person that has been very sweet and nice to me is the office manager Natalie but unfortunately I feel like everything is all on her shoulders because none of the other office staff will do anything without Natalie's permission. The vendor that was coming out to check the air not only have been late a few times to almost to where the office is closed and I'm already gone because they never showed up on time but they've also have done a no call no show. The office staff wouldn't call the vendors because Natalie wasn't there so I had to call the vendors myself to get them to come out. I don't understand why I'm doing their job. I will one way or another get this issue resolved.
