I saw Zarkana at Radio City Music Hall. Beautiful venue. I have seen many a concerts and shows at Radio City Music Hall. But this review is about Zarkana.
This is my first time seeing Cirque Du Soleil live. I didn't much understand the story behind Zarkana. All I understood was the guy in the story is a magician.
The part I liked the most is the set. The 3D imagery around the stage almost acting like a frame around the show was AMAZING from where I was sitting. You would really need to sit a bit further back to see what I am talking about. The snakes slithering around the outside perimeter of the stage looking from where I was...was mad coooool. I was staring at that part more than the act. I was mesmerized by the imagery around the stage.
My seat was a bit further back then I would have liked but it was fine. I just feel if you are further back the show doesn't has as much as an impact.
I went to another show of the same kind of caliber with acrobats and such but was sitting pretty close and the excitement from sitting so close to dangerous feats was keeping me on the edge of the seat. But at Zarkana I didn't feel "the edge of your seat" sensation and I think it was from having seats so far back.
If you are planning on going to Zarkana, I definitely would recommend sitting much closer than where I was at the back of the orchestra but not toooooo close because you'll miss the amazing special effects around the outside frame of the stage. And I like sitting in the center. The special effects around the stage benefits only when you sit at the center, I believe.
