  • The entire team at animal hospital of high park is amazing, but Dr. Markus Luckwaldt and receptionist Belinda are my 2 favourites!! I had been coming to this place with my dumbo rats for 8 months, the entire team, especially Dr. Luckwaldt and Belinda were very accommodating and helpful. I brought both of my rats (Sven & Olaf) in to see Dr. Luckwaldt last year. Sven had respiratory infection in april and then Olaf got the same thing in october. Dr. Luckwaldt is well educated on rats and he explained my rat's condition/treatment options/prescription really well every time we were there. And I love how the staff from high park would always call a couple days after the visit so they can checkup on my rats. Unfortunately, even after 4 months of treatment, Sven was too sick and passed away in July. When I brought Olaf in sometime after july for a regular checkup, I told the staff about sven and a week later I received a card from them! They all signed the card and comforted me about my loss, and I thought it was super sweet and thoughtful (made me cry)!!! Olaf battled for the same sickness for months and was gasping for air sometimes, I told Dr. Luckwaldt about not wanting to give up Olaf so fast, and he was very understanding and gave me the option to try some other medications. But little Olaf couldn't make it in the end and I had to euthanize him. They sent another card to my house after Olaf's euthanasia, and I am just so thankful that my rats were cared by such an amazing team. Dr. Luckwaldt is an example of good vet, not only is he knowledgeable, he also got a good heart and compassion for it. Thank you everyone from high park who took care of Sven & Olaf!! Thank you!!
