I found the gem of Yonge-Davenport Pet Hospital with Dr. Vald Stefaneacu when I urgently needed my dog examined on a Sunday. (My regular vet is not open on Sundays, and I did not know what a Emergency Pet Hospital could cost.) I was grateful Kyra gave Jackson (my dog) an appointment for as soon as I could get there to see Dr. Vald Stefaneacu. (When I realized that Dr. Vald Stefaneacu operates as the only vet I was even more impressed being open 7 days a week!) With a physical exam, Dr. Vald Stefanescu said that Jackson had decreased range of motion in his neck moving downwards, a slower reflex on him front left paw, and pain in his lumbar spine. From there he suggested x-rays. When the x-rays were done he took the time read them with me present. I got to see there were no broken bones, no fractures or no internal bleeding. Dr. Vald Stefaneacu injected Jackson with an anti-inflammatory and pain medication which was effective immediately. He also sent home pain medications. Kyra called me each day for several days to check on Jackson. The pain medication was not sufficient, so I picked up an anti-inflammatory as well as more pain medication. (Dr. Vald Stefaneacu did not charge me for another prescription fee when dispensing more of the same medication when needed.) When we added an anti-inflammatory Jackson was finally able to be comfortable without pain while he healed which took up 2 weeks.
Although we are happy with our current vet, we are inquiring to get Jackson's periodontal disease (teeth cleaning) done with Dr. Vald Stefaneacu which might convert us to stay with Yonge-Davenport Pet Hospital forever. I hope it's as positive of an experience that I will share about it in the future!
