I would like to preface that I get into the zoo free because of benefits I receive from my workplace. If I had to pay the ticket price ($25.00) I wouldn't have gone. Today my friend and I decided to go and check it out, as we haven't been in a couple of years. Its not as amazing as I remember, but its certainly better than some of the zoos here in Az (especially in regards to cleanliness of the exhibits) and most of the animals seem pretty happy. If you're planning on coming and you're not receiving a discount, definitely pack a lunch, as the food is pricey and not really that great. There are various pricey attractions as well, so if you're with your family be prepared to fork out a significant amount of cash or avoid them. On average I'd say it takes about 2-3 hours to see the whole zoo and a majority of the exhibits are outside, so definitely pack sunscreen and a water bottle with you if its a hot day.
