| - I've had hit or miss service at Davids Bridal stores in the past for prom dress shopping, but I have been happy with the dresses that I got. When one of my best friends asked me to be her maid of honor, I started looking at the website for DB to see what kinds of dresses she might stick me in. We went in for an appointment with myself and 2 other bridesmaids, and I don't remember a lot about the experience except that the consultant kind of let us pick anything and everything to try on. She was good about finding us sizes, but didn't really help us narrow the dresses down.
Recently, however, the bride and I went in again to take a look at some of the new styles and try to settle on a dress. Our consultant's name was Carly, and she was FANTASTIC!! We had an appointment for Saturday afternoon, and while she was busy, she made sure to keep checking back with us. For a good chunk of the appointment, when I came out of the dressing room she was right there to help me zip the dress up. She helped us narrow down our choices by offering us advice and helping to figure out dresses that had all of the elements they were looking for. She wasn't pushy at all, and she didn't seem annoyed that we were just looking and didn't plan on buying a dress that day, since we needed to bring the other bridesmaids back to try on our choices. She made the appointment FUN, and said she would do whatever she needed to do to make sure the bridesmaids could settle on the dress the bride liked the best, even though we had a couple other dresses she kind of liked and thought the bridesmaids could try anyway.
I am looking forward to our next appointment with Carly, and hoping that we can settle on a dress! If we get them through Davids Bridal, I will edit my review to include that experience as well! In the mean time, if you're looking for a dress and go to Davids Bridal, ask for Carly!!!!!
