I have been coming to this restaurant for over a decade! I've always loved the service and food. It has been years since I last visited Azteca and it was not one of my best experiences here. Came in with 4 other ladies around 1:30pm on a Monday. When we walked in the manager or owner (one of the two) was on the phone taking an order. She "sensed" us standing there (she didn't look up), put the phone down (didn't put it on hold) and started to pile up menus. A waitress appeared and this lady tells her to take the order on the phone, in a very unprofessional manner to the point I was ready to walk out at that moment and I'm sure the person on the phone could hear everything. Of course this set my mood for the meal, since I'm so familiar with this place and I was with my in-law family who were visiting from another country, I started to notice EVERYTHING. The menu is basically the same as 10 years ago with higher prices. Some of the meals are overpriced for the quality of them (sopa de mariscos/seafood soup). My meal had a modification, instead of refrÃes beans I asked for charro beans, they were cold. My mother in law noticed that the taco salad she always gets, was only filled half way unlike other times it is over the top. Server was great and accommodating, however I was waiting for a refill throughout my whole meal. From this recent experience I will most likely double think spending my money here when I know there is better out there for less.
