The baseball is great and the stadium is beautiful. The grass seating is nice for families and the ushers are kind and helpful.
Now for the bad. Food selection is pretty limited and options beyond the standards (i.e. hotdogs, peanuts, etc...) have excessively long lines and longer wait times after its ordered. My biggest beef by far concerns concessions. On a 91 degree day I bit the bullet and bought a 20 oz bottle of water for an absurd $4.25 and when it was handed to me it was warm. When I asked if I could have a small cup with ice I was told I could purchase a 6oz paper cup of ice for an additional dollar. Once I could stop laughing I realized they were serious.
We purchased 7 tickets at $30 a piece for the whole family, but they refused me a scoop of ice; even if I brought them my own cup. After complaining to three people I was (insert sarcasm) generously given one 6oz cup of ice.
It is poor form to treat loyal fans like garbage. It's a real shame too because I really enjoyed the small amount of baseball I was able to watch. My advice to Surprise Stadium is too prioritize the well being of your patrons over chincey ways to take advantage of them.
Advice to all future patrons is to bring plenty of your own cold water on a hot day because the concession stands will just let you go thirsty and heat exhausted in the scorching Arizona sun.
