| - One of my favorite places for breakfast/lunch in Pittsburgh. Sure, Pittsburgh is the land of crepes and waffles and giant, starchy, breakfast meals, but, for the same price, you can get a sandwich and a fruit/veg salad at Bluebird Kitchen! The breakfast egg sandwich is delicious, as are the Cuban and croque monsieur lunch sandwiches. But my favorite eats are the salads - beet with lime and cilantro, cauliflower with chickpeas and curry, spinach with oranges. All so good! I'm totally on board with the restaurant's idea to source fresh, local, foods and craft the menu items as appropriate. Oh and the baked goods are a treat! I've had a couple of the cookie sandwiches and macarons and they did not disappoint. A yummy, creative, thoughtful alternative to the traditional Pittsburgh breakfast joint!
