| - WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED. ANYWHERE. DO NOT GO.
My cousin and I, had a wedding to attend on Friday September 25 2015. Since my cousin is from out of the province, she asked me if there is any good nail salons around my area (I live in Oak Ridges). So, I searched up on Yelp for nail salon places close by, and Jenny Nails Spa showed up; with an eye-catching 4.5 rating out of 5. Wow that's amazing! So, I text her the phone number and location of the place, she books her appointment on Tuesday September 22 2015. She goes in asking for a certain style, and her nail technician messes it up! She made mistakes on the shape of her nail, the length and the original style she desired. My cousin was really disappointed so Jenny took over (the owner of the salon). Even with Jenny's skills, she couldn't undo what her other co-worker had done. My cousin's nails looked ordinary; everyone thought she just painted them herself at home! Jenny ends up giving her a 'huge' discount of 10%.. wow; that's so generous of her (sarcasm). So my cousin is still disappointed but can't do anything about her nails because the gel already set in her nails. She pays and ends up leaving, disappointed with the service and result of her nails. Despite my cousin having a bad experience, I was still really interested in their service, because coming across a 4.5 rating is rare nowadays. Jenny calls my cousin back and OFFERS HER A REFUND. But since my cousin is fed up with trying to REASON with Jenny she decided not to go back to save herself the headache. So I book my appointment for the day of the wedding (Sept. 25) and go in. The nail technician I start with is Nancy, and I tell her I want gel (powder) nails with a french tip. So she starts on my nails, asking me the length and how thick I want the french tip. Nancy gets an idea, then starts. She works on my nails, then doesn't even put a base colour of light pink or beige for french nails! WHO ADDS A FRENCH TIP ON BARE NAILS?! How cheap and unprofessional. Nancy finishes when, I notice that my nails are a bit damaged and the yellow-ish colour of my nail is seen through the actual gel! I request for a base coat colour and I'm denied that. She also did not have the courtesy of telling me that my real 'free edge' part of my nail is visible too! She gets ANGRY with me, telling me I should've told her that sooner... Excuse me? How are you, as the nail technician so unaware of these details?!.. anyways, Jenny takes over. Oh I'm sorry, its not my fault you can't do your job properly. So Jenny suggests to increase the thickness of the french tip to cover up the visibility of the free edge of my nails. She makes all the tips thicker, and begins to place the clear coat on top (this will seal the french tip, changes can't be done after this). BUT JENNY HERSELF FORGETS TO PLACE A TOP COAT ON ONE OF MY NAILS. I go home, take a shower and one of my french tip nails are removed!!!!!!! Ridiculous. I tried texting one of the workers in the salon, but received no response on Saturday. So I gave them a call on Tuesday September 29, and speak to Jenny myself. I explain to her that I'm not happy with my service and the way my nails look. Everyone thought my nails looked very cheap, and would not believe I paid $40 for this garbage. I told Jenny that I would like a refund, but she says "It's not part of our policy". Then I tell her, that's funny because my cousin came in last week as well, and she was offered a refund?????? At this point she is ACTUALLY YELLING AT ME OVER THE PHONE. She wouldn't even give me a chance to talk. Then she says " OH BECAUSE OF YOUR COUSIN, I HAD TO FIRE ONE OF MY NAIL TECHNICIANS." Oh whoops sorry, that's your fault for hiring incompetent nail technicians. THEN SHE STARTS BLAMING ME, TELLING ME THAT ME AND MY COUSIN ARE BULLIES. THAT SHE CAN SUE ME. Excuse me? Sue me for what??? For expressing my feelings towards the shit service I received???? I EVEN OFFERED TO COME BY IN PERSON TO SHOW HER MY NAILS INCASE SHE THOUGHT I WAS LYING. THEN SHE TELLS ME
"IF YOU COME ON MY PROPERTY ILL CALL THE COPS AND SUE YOU".
Wow... how unprofessional, coming from a person who claims to be in the nail industry for 22 years... She then proclaims on and on, about how I don't know anything about nails... FYI JENNY, I DO KNOW WHAT I WANT FOR MY NAILS AND I WAS PRETTY CLEAR ABOUT IT TOO. I didn't ask for an intricate design, something of high complexity. All I wanted was gel nails with a french tip. That's it. Instead, I receive empty threats of being SUED????
Excuse me, Jenny. But the next time you plan on 'suing' someone, look up the law. You can't sue someone who is disappointed in the service given to a CUSTOMER. I DID NOTHING WRONG. I was just not pleased with my service that's it!
