We decided to give this place a try for my friends sending off before deployment brunch. The decor is nice and simple and they have a spacious covered patio. We opted to sit outside since it was a nice breezy day. At first the waitress seemed standoffish but after some time she warmed up to us.
We ordered beignets as appetizers and they were heavenly! Light and fluffy just how they should be made. They have two all you can drink options 1) is mimosas for 24 pp and 2) is the henny sangria for 25 pp. I thought if I paid 25 I could get either or for a nice little mix but I was sadly mistaken. Although the difference is only a dollar, you cannot mix between the two even if you opt to pay the more expensive option. Maybe they should include that as a choice for those looking to experience both.
Now I know you are reading this thinking wow, why only 3 stars everything seems great so far. Well, it's because of my main course. I ordered the Steak Frites and while presentation was to die for the steak was BEYOND bland! Not even the garlic butter on top could make up for it. Having a steak look so marvelous and be so tasteless is really an enigma. Fries were nice and crunchy but could not save this dish.
My friend ordered a lobster roll and enjoyed his food very much. Other friend had the chicken and waffles which he states wasn't very special.
I really wanted to like this place and have a new brunch spot but it looks like I will continue my search!
