| - My wife and I just finished up her birthday dinner and to say we have mixed feelings is an understatement.
Overall it is not nearly as good as Mastro's City Hall, especially concerning the service, but the food is excellent and the live music in the bar was really fun.
We had the Scallops, the Chef's Cut Ribeye, the Lobster Mashed Potatoes, Drinks, and Wild Mushrooms. All was really terrific.
The service was very strange. The Managers were very kind, and seemed to help us more than our actual server did. Our server checked on our appetizer and our entrees once each, but both times before we had a single bite. We were given our appetizer pretty much when the bread was brought out, but then waited a good 30 minutes before dinner was served.
My wife was really excited about getting the Butter Cake for dessert, but the strangest occurrence of the night was that they never asked us what we wanted for dessert. After 15 minutes of just sitting and waiting, they brought us a piece of chocolate cake, so it was pretty awkward when we had to ask for what we actually wanted for dessert.
I recommend coming here for drinks and enjoying live music, but cannot recommend it as a nice dinner out when there are so many other good options in Scottsdale.
