| - Big DISSAPOINTMENT ! I was excited to see it opened here. I had Halal Guys NYC by MOMa, which is 100x better than this branch. This one is nothing like the original: very skimpy in portion, cold, not fresh, hummus is extra. We arrived at around 7 pm, staff was already cleaning up the place, looks like it's going to close soon. We are not the only one thinking it's closed, as other passer by customer asked if they are closed.
The 2 vertical meat griller was off, someone was cleaning it. Chicken was piling up on the grill table, wasn't heated up or grilled before staff served it. Beef was inside the container on the prep table, beside lettuce, and other sides.
The overpriced platter costs $9.99 small or $12.49 large, comes with some meat, chicken or beef or both (not much here, extra for more meat), some rice, lettuce, tomato, pita bread, and sauces.
Beware their hot sauce is super spicy!
I could barely ate the whole plate when I had it in the original location, because the amount of food, but it was so tasty I ate almost all and wanting to have it again everytime I'm in town. So when this branch open here I got so excited, but ooh what a disappointment! Tasted awful, nothing like the original, cold, basically not a good value for your bucks.
We got the impression staff are lazy, maybe just want to clean up and go home on time, or management doesn't want to pay extra hour for cleaning? Hence, food items are sitting on prep table, doesn't look or taste fresh.
There are more than enough number of staff there, 7-8. They can easily do the cleaning later, and serve proper food like the original one.
It's Halal Guys in name only, maybe they are banking on the name.
But it's really nothing like the original.
Forgettable and overpriced.
Do yourself a favour don't bother coming here until they improve to match the standard and taste of the original place.
Do the meat correctly, turn on the vertical grills!
There are a lot of other places around that are better, and would love to serve you food rather than cleaning the restaurant.
