  • We chose to stay at the Glenerin Inn because it is located close to my parents home and sounded like a nice alternative to a chain hotel. We booked a room (suite actually) for 4 nights. The inn is a converted summer home with a storied past although it was hard to follow the history from the printed copy they supply when you ask the history of the place ( note to manager/PR - that handout could be better written and edited). Anyway, quaint little place - very charming. The suite consisted of a sitting room and a bedroom. At first glance it is very lovely. Then we started to unpack. There is one tiny little closet with 8 hangers. No dresser and no place to put your suitcases out to use as a dresser. I had to take over the small beverage area for my makeup and hair and place the coffee maker on the floor. the ironing board and iron also were taken out of the closet and placed in a corner in the room. My husband's shoes lined up under the heater because my shoes filled the tiny closet The bathroom has no counter space just a small medicine cabinet mirror. Be careful using the hot water. It is scalding! It is definitely the hottest water I have ever experienced especially in a hotel (we are very seasoned travelers). Steam comes up from the sink! Water pressure is good though. The sitting area is cramped. We had 2 chairs and a love seat in this tiny little room. Note to manager: I would remove one of the chairs, move the beverage table into the sitting area and put a small chest of drawers in the bedroom. The sitting area room is over furnished with impractical furnishings The walls are paper thin. We heard people having sex, taking showers, going to the bathroom and walking around. That's why I am writing this review at 2:08 am. I was woken up by a shower that was followed by sex. Yay us! The staff were very accommodated upon check in with an ice bucket and martini glasses for our evening drinks. We were told there was a lounge but it was not opened. We made drinks in our room and then took them with us as we explored the property. We were told we could not drink outside our room because of liquor laws. So back to our tiny cramped room we went. We were happy with the location as it was 5 minutes from my parents. The bed was super comfortable. The cramped quarters and thin walls will be the reason we don't come back. Which is a shame because it really is a pretty spot and quite lovely overall. We did not eat here but the dining room looked nice.
