| - The hotel is conveniently located in the city. There is a CVS, Subway, Dunkin Donuts and some other restaurants around the corner. The hotel has a bar/restaurant and a decent size Gym. You can walk to the Casino, Flats and Quicken Loans Arena and other tourist attractions or take the FREE Shuttle bus.
The rooms were clean (nothing special for the price), but there weren't any (no bathtub) shower caps for the ladies.
Pet owners, NO pet fee!
You pay a lot for the hotel because of the location, so keep that in mind.
BEWARE of "NO PARKING" so you are forced to pay $36 per night, and it's only Valet Parking. This is one of the things I hate about this hotel. If they have to charge us, that's fine, but let us park our car. Not only do you have to tip them every time they get your car, but they also take over an hour to get it. If you have to be somewhere at a specific time, give the Valet guys your ticket and do something for that hour, hopefully, when you return your car might be there. Expect to spend approximately $150 for Valet parking, not including tips every-time you use your vehicle.
When I tried to grab the luggage carrier, the hotel worker held on to it as if he owned it. He took my luggage to my room and waited for his tip. I could have done this my self and saved the $7x2.
Last but not least, give FREE Wifi to the hotel guest!! Most hotels and fast food places offer free wifi, why can't Westin?
Overall, it's wasn't a bad stay. If the only thing you're looking for is convenience (location), the Westin Downtown Hotel is for you.
Enjoy your trip!
