I went into this dentist for an emergency appointment after chipping a tooth pretty badly. They were great about getting me in as soon as possible and the front desk staff were very helpful both on the phone and in person. The dental hygienist was very friendly and put me at ease while taking x-rays.
I saw Dr. Chatterjee, who barely looked at my X-rays before determining that I needed a root canal. I said to her "Well, that's scary" in a normal tone and she responded saying something like, "See, there you have it--schedule her with Dr. so and so." and then proceeded to tell me that it looked like I had a lot of other cavities to fill as well.
I had questions about that, being that I have had a lot of work done on the other three quadrants of my mouth and have been VERY good with my flossing and brushing ever since. She dismissed my questions, asking me if I drink soda (I do not). She then told me that she felt sorry for me because I had so many cavities. When I asked questions about antibiotics she had mentioned, she told me that if I had any pain it was probably "psychosomatic".
I recieved a second opinion elsewhere, and while I do need a root canal, he assured me that we will take it one step at a time because nothing else in my mouth was alarming.
I will not be returning to Orangewood Family Dental.
