Inside the Royal Palms Resort is an elegant restaurant and lounge. We had drinks from the lounge in the courtyard with a nice fountain splashing in the background. Try the Sonoran Sage for an interesting take on a gin martini. After drinks we went inside to the main dining room with a wood fired grill. They have both an ala carte and tasting menu. Our party of four had a variety of interesting dishes which included seared foie gras, frogs legs, octopus, scallops, lamb osso buco, flat iron steak with exotic mushrooms and a braised short rib. We washed it down with a 2000 Dunn Howell Mountain cabernet. The service and wine service were outstanding and the food was delicious. I can't comment on the value as it was comped via a friend's trade agreement with the hotel. I would definitely eat hear again even if it were on my own dime. I highly recommend the lamb osso buco with it's North African flavor profile, simply outstanding. We had breakfast here the next morning and the food was well prepared and delicious. I had the Huevos Rancheros with house made spicy chorizo. The other in our part said their breakfast dishes were also very good and included the Mediterranean style eggs Benedict and corned beef hash. Great service and an endless cup of coffee rounded out a great experience at the resort.
