  • This was one of the worst pedicure experiences I have ever had. I called the salon earlier in the week to make a reservation for the 3 of us for a Saturday. When the individual answered the phone, they did not address the business. I had to ask them if I was calling Shine. She asked me what time I wanted the reservation and I told her around noon. She said hold on and didn't actually put me on hold, rather I could here her talking to someone about it. Then she came back and said 11:45 and I said sure. I then had to call back later in the day because one of my friends said that she could not do 11:45. I had basically the same experience the second time I called but was able to make the reservation for 1:45. When we got there at 1:45 on Saturday there were 3 adults in the store who were doing 3 pedicures. There were also 2 pre-teen girls and a young boy, who I assume are children of the adults who were working there. We were not greeted. I told one of people that we were there for our 1:45 pedicures and they told us to pick out polish. When we were done I asked them where to sit and they said pick a chair so we did but then they wanted us to sit in different chairs. The pre-teen girls came over and started filling the tubs. Then one person came over and worked on my one friend. Fifteen minutes later they started on my feet. It appeared that the person who worked on my feet was not trained. The other people had to tell her what to do. About 40 minutes into it, they finally worked on my other friends feet. She was soaking her feet in luke warm water that entire time. Then one of the pre-teen girls was walking around the store, eating a sandwich which wasn't wrapped in anything. She brought some gloves over to the person working on my feet. My one friend was finished well before we were and had to leave. The young boy at the counter ran her credit card (he had to be about 10 years old! Finally when we were done, which all in all took almost 2 hours just to get the pedicures done. When we were leaving, my friend found paraffin wax stuck to her leg that they hadn't rinsed off. They had horrible customer service, were apparently very under staffed and had some sanitary issues. I know that this is a new business but if they want to stay in business, they need to clean this up. Especially since they are located in Hilldale mall which is a more high end mall.
