I really, really wanted to like this place and their beer. Unfortunately of the four beers I tasted, three were below average home-brews and the fourth was just an average craft brew. I know this because I have brewed quite a few below average beers myself and know what really good craft should be. I can't make it, but I know what it tastes like.
The bartender was very attentive and knowledgable in describing the beers. The atmosphere was classic "informal, microbrewery" - all good.
But, the beers. Very thin and lacking in depth for their respective styles and each had an 'off' flavor. Not the same off flavor in each beer, but each definitely had something missing.
I hope they improve because the micro-brewery competition in the 'burgh is very, very stiff.
