This place has value on it's side, there's no doubt. The shrimp basil fried rice was delicious, full of umami that is most likely from MSG or soy sauce. There were at least five decent sized shrimp and there was at least three bowl fulls of rice. It was all accented with the lovely scent of Thai basil with carrots, green peppers and onion studded throughout. The taros spring rolls we got were hot and crisp, but way too greasy. The taro was flavourful, but it was only taro...I would have expected some thing more to add to the taro. The only thing that would make me hesitate to go back would be the atmosphere. And I don't mean the service, our water glasses were always full and the servers were attentive. However, the whole place just seemed really sad on a Saturday night when most restaurants will be rocking. The place seemed to have a dark cloud over it and it was hard to stay any longer than we needed to.
