Cold Tea is probably the coolest bar I have ever been to. It took a good 30 minutes of searching around Kensington Market in -25 degree weather, but I'm so glad I persevered.
Having found the elusive building, you proceed down the hallway and through an unmarked door with a red light. The first thing you see is the dim sum cart, where the lady greets you with a smile. Turn right and you enter the bar itself. Small but not too small, with a good amount of seating and wonderful Chinese-inspired decor.
The bar staff greeted me with a smile and I was very surprised to find that everything is very reasonably priced. In terms of drinks, they have a fully stocked liquor selection and various beers on tap and in cans. I had a can of Sweetgrass Golden Ale and it was very tasty. We also ordered some dim sum to share and it was absolutely delicious.
There is (apparently) a patio out the back for the summer months, but given the weather outside it was obviously closed. If you find yourself in Kensington Market and feel like a drink, this is THE place to go. Trust me - it's worth the effort! The adventure of trying to actually the bar in the first place definitely adds to the appeal.
Tip: Cash only, there is an ATM inside.
