| - Growing up, I felt an affinity for Louis Vuitton because my mother and aunts loved the handbags. It's an iconic brand. This Louis Vuitton flagship made the brand so much more meaningful to me. Did you know the flagship stores require an art installation? Me neither. Now I want to visit every flagship Louis. It's like a mini museum, but more personal. With regards to shopping, this location carries more purses, jewelry, and clothing than any other.
I scheduled a free tour for James Turrell's Akhob exhibit. The recommended maximum of people per tour is six. And don't worry, if there's only two of you, you won't be paired with four other strangers. This is a 100% private experience. In total, the tour is about 45 minutes. You spend 15 minutes guided around the store and admiring the art exhibits on all levels. You can't take any photographs, so save yourself the trouble and leave the cameras at home.
When it's time to visit Akhob, you take an elevator to the third floor. I'm going to refrain from offering too many details, as I think the element of surprise is part of what makes this exhibit inspiring. After a short introduction, you slip off your shoes, slip on some paper booties, and head into the light. Enjoy the Ganzfeld effect!
