Oh The Arms! I may be a little biased as it as been "the hangout" for us for many years now since we all grew up within walking distance.
It's a pub in every way. Looks very similar to a true English pub. It's small, so get their early on weekends to get a table. Same goes for the pool tables. There's only two, so claim your spot early.
They have a good selection of beer on tap and the staff is friendly. I've only had appitizers there and they're nothing out of this world, but yummy. It's your usual pub fare.
It can be very noisy. Don't go there if you're looking to have a intimate conversation. For hockey playoffs they set up a huge screen in the middle. I'm sure the cheering can be heard down the street.
The bathrooms are downstairs - be careful after a few drinks.
They have a great little outdoor patio in the summer. It's hidden away from the main road which is nice. Again, get there early on weekends.
Lots of parking in the city lot behind. Don't leave your car over night if you don't have to, you will get a ticket.
Overall, there is nothing out of the world abut this place, but if you're from the area you love it because you've spent many evening there catching up with friends and see a friendly face every time you go in.
