I've been going to Noras for years now, and when they announced they were moving to a new location down the street (last year) I was worried. I've seen so many smaller restaurants ruined by "upsizing". Unfortunately it happened at Noras too.
First the new location, while beautiful was horribly designed from a noise perspective. You literally cannot hear people across the table from you...when I leave I sigh in relief because the din of the dozens of conversations at once has ended.
I mentioned this on my first dining at the new location to the manager... I work in the studio sound business and I recommended Paul Tan or Acoustic consultants. I noticed this trip one wall has tapestries on it, but they need some Rockwool (Roxul) or sound soak behind them. We're not talking a bunch of money here....a few thousand bucks for a noticeable reduction in noise. Though if they really did it right, it could cost close to $25K for maximum reduction
Nora's, the noise IS hurting your business. Once the newness of the new location is gone...people like me may not come as often.
I love your food please call an acoustic consultant... you'll get 2 stars more from me if you do.
