| - 4.5 stars if I could. Happy New Year! I wanted to try something new and this has always been on my list. The gist of this place is crepes but with a twist. Instead of just the "sweet" treat that you normally expect a crepe to be, this joint also offers "savory" and "breakfast" selections.
My wife and I tried the Sonora (carne asada, roasted tomato salsa, guacamole, jack cheese) from the savory menu and the Monkey (nutella, banana, chocolate drizzle, fresh whipped cream, powdered sugar and added strawberries for 50 cents more) from the sweet menu.
The portions were great. Big enough to fill you up on your first meal. The Sonora came with a soup or salad and I asked for some of the home made salsa on the side to dip. The Sonora reminds me of a delicious Mexican burrito. Just enough spicy kick to it. The lighter crepe pancake vs. a whole tortilla wrap from a traditional burrito was a good change from the norm. My wife who doesn't even like spicy foods enjoyed it as well.
The Monkey was obviously my wife and daughter's favorite. Even I couldn't resist a few bites of this delicious treat. There were ample amounts of fruit and chocolate filling inside and we found ourselves cleaning the plate of every piece. Very enjoyable.
The reason I can't give a perfect 5 is because of the confusion I'd assume plenty of new customers would get like ourselves the moment you walk in the door. As soon as we stepped in, we were greeted by a server. He seated us very promptly and handed us menu's and then left. We waited patiently for him to return to offer to take our order and maybe serve us waters to start. He never did return and it wasn't until minutes later that we realized that we had to go up and order at the counter. Why give us menus at the table if we have to walk up and look at the menu at the front anyways?
Unfortunately, other customers who walked in after we did had already placed their orders and the wait for our food ended up longer than it had to be. (~20 min). Cucumber water and lemon water were complimentary but also self-serve. Good to have known that from the start.
With that aside, delicious food and would definitely come back again.
