Unethical and/or incompetent. Unnecessary testing and treatment. Part of being an emergency facility is identifying when there is no emergency. My poor dog sitter was terrified when my dogs got into chocolate, a likely non-toxic dose based on history. Additionally, the dogs were completely fine, asymptomatic. They were acting normally and had not so much as vomited. This "emergency vet" charged over $2200 for a crazy number of completely unnecessary (not even arguably medically indicated) tests. They can't even interpret basic labs like a urine dip (Which my dog did not need, it was not medically indicated). Fortunately the dogs were unharmed aside from the pain from invasive unnecessary testing and treatment.
