  • My wife and I went through an extensive vetting process in selecting a company to build our swimming pool. It took some time for us to get down to a final list of 4, and we met with each of those builders. We received designs and quotes from all of them, which then allowed us to narrow our options down to two. Ultimately, we picked Cal Pools because of our Designer, Joshua Turnbull. We chose... correctly! Joshua truly took the time to understand our vision for our backyard. We were beginning with a blank slate (empty dirt lot) and we knew that we could not afford to do the entire backyard at once. Joshua not only designed the swimming pool and backyard of our dreams, but he also broke up the entire project into multiple phases so we could budget accordingly. After design, the construction process ran very smoothly. Howard Coffinger was our Construction Manager and he maintained great communication with us throughout the build. He held his contractors to high standards and was incredibly picky about how our project looked. He identified a small problem that we probably never would have noticed. Rather than letting it slide, he immediately reached out to us with reasonable options for solutions ready to discuss. Marcee Walker was our Scheduling Manager and was the glue that held all of this together. She was incredibly easy to reach via phone or email and was very fast to respond. In fact, if we didn't know who to ask about a particular item, it got to where we just reached out to Marcee and she always got our communication into the correct hands (though she typically just took care of it herself). As I write this, Phase I (swimming pool, spa, and deck) are complete. The end result is beautiful! Phase II will be starting soon and we are excited to work with Cal Pools every step of the way.
