  • I wouldn't recommend Terry's Plumbing - we called because I had accidentally flushed a rag down the toilet, and that needed resolved immediately (isn't that always when you call a plumber?) and they were able to get here quickly. The plumber himself wasn't bad at his job, and he spent time also helping us to understand what might need attention in the future (we've got an older house, stuff needs fixing) - BUT he also made suggestions that were absolutely ridiculous (remove the concrete slop sink in the basement and replace it for $800 with a fiberglass piece of crap - no thank you!) and quoted other future jobs at stupid prices. For our immediate problem, we got off the hook for around $300, but I don't think it should have even cost that much, considering what he did. In the meantime, I've found better plumbers who charge fairer rates. EDIT: Two weeks later, when our sewer started to back up, what caused the problem was the rag that had gone down the pipes that the plumber from Terry's had failed to recover. He left with our money, but not the rag he had been hired to recover.
