  • This place is so cool....once you get there. Beware the traffic to get here is insane. I drove about 2 and a half hours to get there and I only needed to travel maybe 11 miles. The thing that causes a lot of traffic is the security checkpoint. They stop every car and look inside the car but the stop and go causes traffic. Make sure to leave a lot of time for this. Parking - there are a bunch of parking spaces but some of them are kind of far away. When you walk it and take pictures it doesn't seem as far away. The Hoover Dam itself is such an amazing place. It's crazy to think about how this was made. There is no water coming out of the dam but there is a lake.
