BLOOD AND OPEN WOUNDS IN THE SWIMMING POOL!!
This downtown location is understandable busy, and the staff are as ineffective as previous reviews mention. Besides convience, the only other draw for Goodlife's Manulife facility is the swimming pool (one of only two in the city).
Due to a back injury, I had to use their pool for rehab purposes recently. So imagine my surprise when after ten minutes, I found myself swimming next to a woman with quite visible fresh cuts and open wounds all over her legs. Disgusted I quickly retreated from the pool, and brought this to the attention of the staff. They spoke to the woman briefly, who continued to swim, before returning to me and explaining it was theraputic for her; and she was there all the time. I spoke the following day to the manager, who was sympathetic but besides assurances he'd look into the problem, has yet to provide me with any solution - or basic answers as to how often the water is cleaned (another staff mentioned that the water is changed once a month - its half-clorine and half-salt).
I understand that large corporations like Goodlife don't feel that basic sanitation is as important as maintaining membership numbers, and this situation won't be resolved until they're responsible for a series of MRSA staph infections. I'm merely writting to encourage you not become one of those inevitably infected.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS POOL.
