| - A hidden gem in plain sight.
We went in to grab a couple ingredients for fresh pico and ended up buying nearly $20 in fresh fruits and veggies, which was an entire shopping cart full. Our freezer is overfilled, dehydrating racks are stuffed and the fridge is maxxed out. Do not come here if you're short on storage, unless you're strong on willpower.
Blueberries, blackberries, apples, cilantro, pears ... on and on and on. We bought it all. Ripe and fresh also, not picked too early. We love this place. We even found some Georgia Peach & Raspberry Coca-Cola. We skipped our planned lunch and gorged on light, fresh fruits and veggies. A perfect snack for the warming weather, a day of bargain hunting and a wonderfully heavy German dinner at Zur Kate, next door. (also reviewed.)
If you're looking for a european style open market experience, get in here. The place was packed with food & friends & fun, but we still checked out rapidly. Don't let the crowd intimidate you, if you wanna run in & out with an armful of fresh veg, this place will get you out quicker than the local supermarket ... with more veg in your arms and more money in your pocket.
