I initially took my 2010 Audi A4 in for service back in 2012 when this dealer was at Sheppard and Warden for a oil consumption issue. Back then I was told it's normal for these cars to burn 1 quart every 2500kms. I thought it was excessive but it was under warranty so I left it at that. They topped it up and I was on my way.
I brought it in to be topped up 3 times before I was told I would have to start paying for the oil. By now more A4 B8 owners were coming forward and there was a class action lawsuit in the USA which went through. Soon there after I received a letter from Audi Canada stating there may be a oil consumption issue and they extended the warranty to 8 years for that issue.
Fast forward to this week November 2016 where my car is now burning 1 quart every 700 kms. I took the car in Midtown Audi and was denied warranty service as my car had a tune on it in the past. This means I am on the hook for a $7000 repair. Not sure what an engineering and manufacturing defect where the rings and pistons do not fit properly and thus causing oil to blow out, has anything to do with a tune. The tune was on the car for 2 months when I took it in back in 2012. They earased the tune when they reflashed the car and refuse to take ownership to that so that $600 that vanished into thin air. Regardless the service manager was down right rude. He went into the directors office and talked to him about something and I'm sure it was my issue as I had raised my voice in frustration and the big guy probably wanted to know what's going on since his door was open and his office has glass walls. He was just sitting behind his desk staring at me for a good 30 seconds but didn't do anything. Well on my way out I stuck my head into his office and told him customer service in non existant and they should take ownership to a known issue. I start walking back to my car and the director gets up off his chair and starts chasing after me saying I blind sided him. I told him that he knew what's going on. Heck I think everyone one in the service area knew when I raised my voice. He said the service manager went into his office to discuss tires and knew nothing about my issue. That was a clear LIE! As I was getting into my car and telling him to have a nice day he tells me to "NEVER COME BACK AGAIN". That is totally unacceptable for a person at his level and down right rude. I would never recommend this dealers service department. I should have read the reviews before deciding to go back there 4 years later.
Icing on the cake is I called Audi Canada to tell them about the experience. They said they don't get involved in these matters but would contact the dealership who has an option to contact me. I haven't heard from them yet and it doesn't look like I ever will. Sorry for the long review. I still love my car though so time to start saving $7000 for the fix.
