  • I've lived here since 2012 and I think my place is wonderful. I have issues with the cheapness of some of the materials for instance the cabinet doors or the drawers. Whomever repaired them only used finish nails and the rollers get crusted and you end up pulling the face off the drawer. I will say some of the worst times in my life were endured living in this place. I lost my relationship of 11 years and my job of 14 years all when I moved in which was like the same time I came out as a transsexual. I remember being alone on my apartment so depressed and I know the neighbors heard my agony, but Susan and the other ladies in the office, even at the beginning Barbara, they have all been awesome and would always cheer me up when I would go to the office. I can honestly say that in terms of management they have fixed whatever repairs needed to be fixed immediately, they never really have let me down in relation to what I want or expect and what they have provided. Well except their parking lot. When I moved in the spots were all parallel with the driveway so you just parked along the side. I used to park at an angle at the end on lunch break and then I had the idea to angle all the spots past the turn off and they could almost double the parking capacity. They latched onto it and within two weeks they reconfigured it. I was stoked until I discovered they wanted to charge us to park there. I was like, I should get a free spot since it was my idea, but alas no free spot, but they also are pretty lax on it unless they expect a big truck or people make issues but even then they just put a notice on the car not one of those messed up orange stickers that OI think should be illegal. The other downside is most of the neighbors dont like me and while my immediate neighbor and the guy down the way are awesome most wont even smile at me and theres some adrenaline junky cop that is always revving his engine like he is mr badd azz and quite frankly Im not into the whole showing off thing. Part of me thinks he mistakes my driving habit of pushing the gas beyond where I chose to accelerate and letting off and letting it coast down as revving my engine at him like its some kind of challenge. I know my dad was paranoid like that cause he was a cop almost 30 years in this town but I try not to do anything that people dont like. Aside from the murder next door in the town-homes right across from my lace and the neighbor, also in the townhouses next door, who called the cops on me at 10/11 am for playing my music loud while I was cleaning, I promise if you just gave me a heads up or knocked on my door or whatever I would of obliged, I swear I aint trying to ruin anyone's peace or day, I just need music in my life. Or the neighbor whose package I accepted because ups didn't want to leave it sitting out and instead of coming to my home when they got home, the record showed they left it with me, they called the police and the cops had to come ask me if I received the package which I didn't understand, nor did the police, why they were called, but I get it they were thinking I was fraudulent which is a lot of people in this town, but not me, Ive worked for all I have even put myself through 5 years of schooling. I try to keep things among us, the community. Cops (aside from the one who lives here) have no business coming here unless its something violent or tragic. Trust me if I saw you in danger or someone trying to get in your place Id stop them myself and let the police come recover them (not that I would ever want to have to do that), Im just saying we need to have each others backs. You know ? People complain about drug dealers and paraphernalia on the ground. I aint seen any. Sometimes I think TV gets people so paranoid that even an old man checking his blood sugar looks like a junkie to them. We leave the cars unlocked outside even with the top down and nothings been stolen. Been out all day and didn't realize my garage door didn't close all the way, door to place unlocked yet nothing stolen. I think in terms of places its very nice, the city has a homeless problem which it tries to sweep under the rug. Having been on the Nevada homeless alliance as part of my volunteer commitment with gender justice Nevada I know firsthand we have one of the highest homeless populations in the country, and I grew up iin this neighborhood and it wasn't always like this but that is to be expected in the world we live in. The neighbors used to be more friendly but one day most, not all, began just giving me dirty looks when Id say hi or good morning. I get it I am a transsexual, and an abomination of god, but arent we supposed to let god judge us and love each other regardless? Heres to all my fellow neighbors, cops, drug dealers, college kids, management, and all you other working class folks, thanks for letting me be a part of this cute little neighborhood
