| - I switched vets! I took my rat terrier here when I first moved to Las Vegas. Courtyard Animal Hospital came recommended from the rat terrier's previous owner, and had in fact taken her there before the rat terrier went to live in Tennessee. I noticed that my poor rat terrier had excessive watery eyes and even looked like it had been scratched and mentioned this on her first visit (with me) here. Her health report card came back normal. This first time I had dropped her off for a drop off appointment at 7 am. I was told she should be ready by 11 am. I got the call at 3pm that she was ready. I had to convert it to an overnight boarding session as I had things going on and wouldn't be able to make it back over before closing.
Three months later I took her for a second visit. I had to work that day and was also trying to leave town (with my rat terrier) that night. I again dropped her off by 7 am and was told that she would be ready by 4pm. I again mentioned her eyes, this time they had started looking a bit cloudy but cleared up within a couple of days. We showed up at 4pm, and had to sit around the office for 2 hours waiting for her paperwork to be done and again we were told that her eyes were normal.
Three months later I had to go on a three week trip for work, and while I was gone, my husband ended up having to go away for a week trip for work, and we left her with a friend. When we returned from our respective work trips we discovered that she again had a cloudy eye, and it was even more so than any previous time, and was very painful for her. We took her to Camino Al Norte Animal Hospital. They said her pressure was elevated. We were referred to an animal ophthalmologist. She ended up losing her left eye. When we mentioned the patterns we had been observing, we were told we should have been referred to them months previous.
Ever since then we have gone to Camino Al Norte Animal Hospital. The staff is more professional and actually care about Chloe. When we got our second dog from the SPCA we took her to Camino Al Norte for her wellness checkup. Bottom line is I will never take either of my pets back to Courtyard Animal Hospital. I wasn't originally going to write a review, but I received an email asking for a google+ review, and since I don't have a google+ account, I reviewed here.
