| - I just came in to grab an appetizer, have a drink, wait for a friend to get off work. This place gets pretty packed, but it's well worth it to sit at the bar if you can. The bartenders were nothing short of friendly and entertaining. Gene fixed me up a Goodbye Blue Sky (after I gave him the 'I don' t know what I want to drink' look) and managed to charm and be attentive to each person on the back end of the bar.
I started off with the bacon crumble calamari and I was blown away. I love seafood and I think I've had calamari in every restaurant I've ever been in, but this stuff topped it all. I don't even like marinara or tartar sauce, but Bill the manager happened to walk by and encouraged me to try it. It was fresh, didn't taste a thing like the normal bottled sauces I've tried.
The best part is, the food was so rich and good, I could barely finish an appetizer and 2 drinks solo. Between Gene and Bill's attentiveness, the amazing food and the lively atmosphere, I can say the experience was well worth the higher price tag. But what can you expect from a name restaurant? They're a dime a dozen in this town, but this one will stay special to me.
