| - I'm torn between giving 3 and 4 stars, but defer to 4 based on other reviews.
I stopped in early in the morning to pick up a couple doughnuts, as I happen to be in the area and saw that the storefront was open. I've tried their mini doughnuts a few times, but not any of the specialty ones.
Parking was pretty easy on the street, and there were plenty of spots open within a block.
The two female employees were friendly, and able to point out the regular doughnuts and the vegan ones, which for someone lactose intolerant, are a blessing :)
Between the two vegan flavors, I picked a vanilla one, and then a chocolate flavored regular one. Before I continue, I want to clarify that the store was pretty empty, and no one else was in line. The doughnuts were a bit pricy, but of course you pay a bit extra for local and specialty food items. I got home to find out they gave me the other vegan flavor (which was strawberry), and a fruity pebble looking regular doughnut. Really? There were two employees, the place was empty, and 2 for 2 they messed up the items I chose, after having a short discussion with the employees about which ones to choose.
The doughnuts weren't anything special, but also hard to enjoy a wrong item when you paid for something else. Hence the 4 stars. I know they have a good product, but this experience was disappointing. I've since moved out of Cleveland so I won't be back and wouldn't return if I'm back in the area. Head over to Peace, Love and Little Donuts instead if you are looking for specialty doughnuts.
