| - Where do I begin? I L-O-V-E everything about Jessi, Joyce & Ruze. These two wonderful women have done cakes and cookies for almost every major life event or party I've had in the past 4 years. Every single time they make something, be it hand painted cookies, macaroons, cake or pastries, my guests want more and have to know the name of the bakery. Jessi and Joyce put so much love and detail into everything they do, and it is quite obvious. The shop is perfection! Have you noticed all the beautiful copper touches on the chairs, lights, forks, etc in their elegant shop? They focus on everything, and really want it to be perfect. The customer is their number one priority, which is hard to come by anymore in a world of chain restaurants. Scottsdale has been waiting for a bakery like this for a while!
When I was getting married, I was looking for the perfect cake. Not just in how it looks, but also how it tastes. I have a serious sweet tooth, but cake was a big part of celebrations growing up, so I LOVE CAKE! I taste tested almost every cake company in the valley, and most were dreadfully bland, or the owners were rude. Then came along Ruze! Ruze made my bridal shower cake at El Chorro, along with some hand painted cookies that were delicious and absolutely beautiful. These cookies were like a work of art. So much so, that my grandmother refused to eat hers, but instead froze it to keep forever. This is when I became a lifelong loyal Ruze customer. They made the cake for my baby shower, my son's first birthday cake, as well as cakes and macaroons for other parties and events, such as my grandmothers 80th birthday. This week, my husband hired Ruze to make a company logo cake for a huge conference he was hosting. This was a big deal for my husband, as all the top executives of his company would be here, and this was the type of event where the pressure was on to really impress. When I walked in with the cake, everyone was pretty excited to look at the hand crafted cake that looked just like one of their products. But after their first taste, everyone wanted to know more about the company who made the cake, and they kept raving about how flavorful it was (chocolate salted carmel- YUM). They were pleasantly surprised that they could walk from the Hotel Valley Ho, right down to Ruze for more sweet treats! Needless to say they were impressed!
When we have family in town and they want to see downtown Scottsdale, Ruze is ALWAYS a stop on our list. My husband and I never really liked macaroons, and then we tried them at Ruze! They are to die for, so we insist that all of our guests try one, and then they become hooked! All of the things I've mentioned about how beautiful their shop is, the attention to detail, and delicious flavors are everything they notice as well. This is a family run business and they care about the name on their front door. Quality and service are a top priority for these ladies, and it is always top notch! I could go on and on about this restaurant, it's service, the aesthetic, and delicious food. Thank you Ruze, for being such a wonderful part of my family's memories and celebrations!
