  • Another awful experience at Drybar Las Vegas. After my first awful experience here, I thought I would give it one more shot and this time was just as disappointing as the last. When my stylist approached me, she had an unacceptably disheveled and not put together appearance. Keep in mind, it was 11:30AM, it's not like I was her last client after a long day. She quite frankly looked like she had just rolled out of bed, not like a professional who I was about to let style my hair. However, I tried not to judge a book by it's cover and allowed her to do my hair. She wasn't very friendly and didn't strike up any conversation which was fine because I was exhausted and not really in the mood for taking. She did not use any heat protectant spray and when I asked her why, she proceeded to say, "oh I used extra anti frizz spray instead and it creates a layer over your hair that serves as a heat protectant." I happen to know this to be completely false, using extra product does not serve as a heat protectant if that is not the purpose of said product. What an idiotic thing to say! In addition, at the end, when she claimed my hair was "complete" and allowed me to take a look, I was horrified. My hair is on the curly side, however, my roots were not at all straight leading to a frizzy look, nor were my edges. When I told her that I would like for them to be straight, she proceeded to tell me, "I'm not very good at straightening roots, so I'll have to get someone to help me." WHAT??? I was mortified when she told me that, mind you, I had already been in the chair for an hour and a half for something that normally takes an hour max, and my hair was not even close to being satisfactory. At this point, she goes to get another stylist who I explain my wishes to and she understands completely and proceeds to essentially restyle my hair correctly, making sure to straighten my roots. She sends the other, incompetent girl away and I immediately ask her if the original stylist is new and she is honest and tells me yes. My question is WHY ARE AMATEURS BEING ALLOWED TO WORK HERE IF THEY ARE NOT COMPETENT TO DO A SIMPLE STYLE? I should not be subjected to someone else's incompetence. My entire appointment ended up taking almost 3 hours which is completely unacceptable. This place is awful, I quickly cancelled my barfly membership and once I use the blowouts that I have already paid for, I will never return to this location. Given the incredible experience I had at the Newport location, this location is shameful. I recommend everyone to run, not walk, as fast as you can away from this location. As a Las Vegas local, there are plenty, better quality options than this place. Take my experience as a cautionary tale, and do not waste your time here.
