So; my husband is trying to find a new doctor and we came across Dr. Weingrow. He has some pretty great reviews and may be a really awesome doctor. Unfortunately, we will never find out because the woman who answered the phone was lazy and rude and doesn't know how to do her job!
Per their website they accept BCBS, she asked my husband what kind of insurance he had and he told her BCBS PPO policy. She then told him that because they outsource their billing she could not tell us if they accept our insurance and told him he needed to call BCBS to see if they accepted our plan.
I work in the medical field and that should not have happened. Your front desk staff should be fully aware of what insurance plans your office takes!
It was 5 minutes before the office closed, so my guess is she just wanted to get out of there for the day and was just being lazy!
Makes me wonder how many patients this provider has lost out on because of his staff? The sad thing is, most doctors never even know their staff does stuff like this.
