| - My wife, mother, and I all went visited here for brunch on a Sunday afternoon. We arrived around 1:30, just before brunch ended. This is definitely one of the fancier places I have visited for brunch. The building still retains some of its industrial roots with a nice modern, classy, and warm atmosphere.
The brunch special here includes juice or cocktail, appetizer, and main entree. I ended up ordering pineapple juice (lame, should have been more fun and ordered a cocktail), the ricotta squash crepe, and the lamb huevos rancheros. The meal started out by bringing out a variety of baked goods along with some blackberry jam and honey butter. It was evident everything here is homemade, and when we questioned our waiter he informed us that the restaurant had its own bakery! Very impressive and very well done on such a small and simple beginning to our meal. The ricotta squash while visibly impressive I thought lacked a little flavor. There was no dominate flavor that really shined in the dish. Lastly, the much anticipated huevos rancheros. I had been craving this meal for a while, and although this isn't your typical huevos rancheros, it was still excellent! The combination of lamb, goat cheese, egg, and a chip base to the dish all did wonders in my mouth. The texture was pleasing as well as the flavor.
My wife and mother enjoyed their meals as well. Next time I must try the eleven burger. I have heard from more than one person that this is the best burger in Pittsburgh. The price here is a little higher than what I typically spend, but the food for sure is worth it if you're looking for a nice place for brunch! I will have to try a brunch cocktail next time I come as well. This was a great experience here and I strongly recommend this place if you're looking for a nicer place to eat.
