Just checked out of the resort after spending four days attending an expo at the convention center. My experience was not as horrifying as some of the reviewers. My check In was at mid night as my flight arrived late. The check in process was smooth and I was not surprised at the resort fee since it showed up during booking. This is true with both the conference booking site and travel agency for our institution. Here is my summary of the stay:
Pros:walk to convention center, it's not a short walk but it is one of the a few hotels around the convention center. Most of the attendees from my expo stayed there for this reason.
The room was nice, large with decent furniture. I might got one of the renovated rooms so no complains here.
Price is reasonable, my daily cost is a little over $100 including all the fees and tax, plus comped breakfast/brunch.
The fitness center is nice, I did not use the pool.
There are several on-site restaurants. They are not great but better than the food court at convention center.
Most of the stuff there were nice. You can tell they are trying to make things right.
Cons: there is no coffee machine in the room. The coffee shop opens 24/7 but the line could be long in the morning.
The buffet food was mediocre, better than Embassy suite but not up to Vegas standard. The wait line could be long as well.
The elevator can be slow at rush hour.
