Decided to head here to watch the Celtics/Bullets (aka. Wizards) game. It was right next to my hotel and I could walk to it. Walked into a dark bar/restaurant that was not very packed. Sat up at the bar and ordered a Guinness. Here is a breakdown of my visit --
Service - Top Notch bartenders that were friendly, talkative and willing to give some suggestions to local beers. The waitress that kept stopping by the bar was nice and joined in the conversations. She was hard working.
Drinks - The Guinness came out dark with a perfect head, but it seemed to be watered down and wasn't my usual dark milkshake. I moved on to a local Phoenix beer that was better and finished with a PBR 16-oz can. Perfect way to end the OT of a basketball game.
Food - Who can pass up Taco Tuesday of Shrimp in the middle of the desert? They were $2.25 each and came out in a mound of cabbage with a green sauce and salsa. The cabbage soaked up the flavors and helped mask the little shrimps that should have been grilled instead of boiled, but I was happy. The reason the ranking dropped was that I found a huge black hair as I was finishing up the 2nd order. Minor mistake for food :(
Overall Ranking - Loved this little local bar where everyone seemed to know each other. Had a couple conversations with those around me and got suggestions for place to visit while in Phoenix. I would recommend checking this place out for some drinks if you want to enjoy a game on TV. People were friendly, food was good (besides hair), drinks were ok (no Guinness), and there were games on each of the TV's.
