  • Reluctant to spend $45 on a pedicure when I could get a great one for $25 almost anywhere in the city, I went to Beauty Buzz out of convenience because I live upstairs at the Metropole. She used a disposable piece of sandpaper-like material that sticks onto a metal device to scrub my feet, leaving them dry and rough after. She did my second foot completely dry and used a cuticle pusher on the rest of my feet. When I asked her why she was using this tool on that part of my foot, she ignored me and continued. While she did remove quite a bit of my dry skin, in the end, parts of my feet were actually rougher than when I got there. If the pedicure had been $20 I may have given it three stars - the nails were fine, just like any other place. Oh, asked if they had massage chairs, they said yes. They have uncomfortable upright chairs with crappy Homedics massage seat covers that are barely worth turning on. Next time I'll make the two block trek to a better place for less money.
