  • I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants safe treatment for their skin. It is owned by Dr. Goldhar and he trains the aestheticians to do the procedures safely. I went there to get a 40% glycolic peel to clear brown/red acne marks. I was nervous because I did some research and found that peels can go wrong for some people if not done correctly, but I went for the free consultation to get some more information. I was very late because I got the time wrong, but they accommodated me anyway, and didn't make me feel rushed. I found the woman who did my consultation was easy to talk to. She seemed very confident that the glycolic peel was what I wanted. I told her about some deeper scars I had that I wanted to get rid of, although she didn't spend too much time addressing that, probably because she felt the peel was best to do first, and then to re-evaluate. She did give me some pamplets to read about laser treatment for deeper scars, but I have heard some terrible things about lasers from online reviews, and so I disregarded them. She also mentioned that she had just had a 70% glycolic peel done and it made me feel more comfortable seeing that her skin was totally in tact. One thing that bothered me was when I asked what the risks were of doing the peel, and she said none. But that's just not true. One common risk for everyone is getting sun burnt more quickly. I would expect this information to be made available when asked. When I received the peel, I was taken care of by an aesthetician named Susan, who was amazing. She had gorgeous skin and was so gentle and caring, I couldn't have asked for anyone better. I received a facial treatment with some extractions, followed by the peel, which stung a little, but definitely nothing unbearable. She sat over my skin to monitor it and evaluate when it was time to remove the peel. Once it was removed my skin already looked great. For the next few days my skin was really glowing and I was sold on the peel treatment. It wasn't till about day 3 that my skin started to dry up and flake, for about 4-5 days. Then finally when the flaking was done, my skin looking amazing again. The skin tone has evened out a lot, the brown acne marks have faded considerably and my skin feels softer and glowier. I will definitely get this treatment again, in combination with microdermabrasion as was recommended to me. One thing that they mentioned was that my skin would be very photosensitive and that I would need to wear sunscreen when going out. So I went out and bought the same moisturizer that I normally use, but with sunscreen. I could feel it was a lot greasier than the one I was used to, which worried me, but I used it anyway since most suncreens are kind of oily. It was a mistake, because it caused a breakout, which didn't stop growing until I stopped using it. Fortunately the healing time of my skin had sped up since this peel, so the marks are fading already (only days later). When I went to pay for the glycolic treatment I was surprised I was not prompted for a tip, as I would be in a spa. It makes sense to include the employees wages in the service fee because I expect the service would be done 100% with utmost care every single time, rather than having employees motivated by tips. It made the service feel more professional and pleasant.
