  • Ways the monorail is awesome: -Very quick. -Very quiet. -It's easy to find a seat - or to stand and look out the window. -It's a fantastic way to get to the middle of the strip. -It's pretty cheap, you can grab a day pass for $12, which is the price of a 1,000 foot cab ride with credit card fee and tip. Ways the monorail is less awesome: -Not enough stops. Staying at the Delano, it took us 15 minutes (walking) to get to the closest stop at the MGM, and we very often had to walk more to get where we wanted to go. -It could be longer. It's not for a lack of space, so I'm not sure why this doesn't go all the way to the airport. Whether or not you are better off riding the Monorail vs. using other available public transportation options largely depends on where you are starting and where you are going. Should you find yourself in that sweet spot, go for it. If not...you've probably got some walking to do.
